Slaughterhouse
“Animals, you have to look them in their eyes”
Emilia, 1960s. Nani works in the tripe room of a slaughterhouse. His dream, however, is to become a butcher and buy back the farmhouse where he lived with his grandfather. When union struggles begin at the slaughterhouse, Nani chooses to side with the boss. Growing increasingly isolated, he comes to accept exploitation and violence as part of his own identity, directing it not only against animals but also against people.
